He grew up in a small town in Iowa with his father, mother, sister and brother. Throughout his childhood, several families escaping political turmoil from nations such as Laos, Poland and ex-Yugoslavia would stay with his family. This exposure to various cultures impacted Mr. Wee in a wonderful way. His childhood education all took place in his home town. He attended university at both the University of Northern Iowa and the Universidad de Extremadura. His teaching career began in an English academy in Caceres, Spain. Upon returning to the U.S.A. Mr. Wee became certified as a bilingual educator in early childhood to 4th grade and got his first job at Sims Elementary. Mr. Wee wants all of his students to feel safe, happy, eager to participate and compassionate with classmates in order to provide the best learning environment possible. All students are encouraged to ask questions, share thoughts and try their best. He believes that in order for students to learn they must feel safe and accepted and appreciated. Parents are always welcome to express concerns and be involved in the education process. Mr. Wee has a great devotion to the environment and does all he can to recycle, and be a good steward of the earth. You may even see him riding his bicycle to work.
