Mrs. Garcia has been Pleasant Hill's art teacher for 12 years. She grew up and went to school in Iowa, graduating from the University of Iowa. Mrs. Garcia loves the family atmosphere of Pleasant Hill. Art is her passion, and she is so excited to meet all the new young artists and inspire them.
This is Ms. Tarnow’s second year at Pleasant Hill Elementary and she is so excited to be here! This is her 14th year of teaching elementary music in the Austin area. She was born in The Netherlands, but grew up in Boerne, TX. She attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX and earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and then attended Texas State University in San Marcos to earn a Master's in Music Education. She has a 6 year old son in 1st grade at Pleasant Hill and loves to perform music in her spare time. She hopes to inspire students to develop a love for singing, dancing, playing instruments, and even reading and writing music!
